Man arrested on multiple drug charged in Metropolis

METROPOLIS, IL (KFVS) -

Metropolis Police arrested a man accused of trying to sell drugs outside a bar early Friday morning.

Frank E. Thompson, 37, is charged with possessing a controlled substance, possessing with intent to distribute a lookalike substance, and theft.

Thompson lists both Metropolis and Marion addresses.

Police were called to the Tailgators Bar and Grill at 204 West 7th Street at 12:07 a.m. Friday for complaints of a man allegedly trying to sell drugs on several occasions.

Officers seized two plastic bags: one containing a white crystal like substance and another containing a white powdery substance.

Police also found Thompson with a prescription bottle with 22 clonazepam and suboxone pills allegedly stolen from a Metropolis woman.

Thompson was taken tot he county detention center.

    According to Carbondale police, a man wearing a light colored polo shirt and blue jeans used the personal information of an out-of-state victim to make purchases at Best Buy.
