One Tank Trip - Garden of the Gods

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS (KFVS) -

Among stunning rock sculptures set along the backdrop of the Shawnee National Forest is Garden of the Gods in southern Illinois.

You'll find amazing scenes on the observation trail,  a quarter mile stretch that will take you about 45 minutes to hike.

And, you will want to get as high as possible to take in the view which is a perfect scene to enjoy upcoming fall colors.

Mother Nature's 320-million-year-old carvings have names like camel rock, and monkey face. There are also the bizarre bands and hundreds of other incredible sights.

All together the trails create about a five and a half mile hike.

All this beauty will take you away from it all, but is close to several more of tourists favorite spots in southern Illinois.

A one tank trip of wonder…a garden tourists say is made by the Gods.  A piece of heaven for us here in the Heartland.
