MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Mississippi County leaders want to know if activating the Birds Point-New Madrid Floodway Plan worked as well as the Army Corps of Engineers says it did.

Mississippi County Presiding Commissioner, Carlin Bennett says he filed Freedom of Information paperwork with the Corps last week.

Bennett says he is looking for hydrology reports about how much the river levels went down and how much water flowed through the floodway.

Bennett is also requesting any internal communication from Corps officials, relating to their assessment of the floodway's performance.
