Two arrested for meth in Hayti

HAYTI, MO (KFVS) -

Two Hayti men faces charges after police say they found a "shake and bake" meth lab.

The Hayti Police Department has conducted a meth investigation for the past month.  Officers conducted controlled buys of meth from a home in the 700 block of East Reed Street.

Through the controlled buys, officers learned of several people making meth with the "shake and bake" method.

Hayti officers and Pemiscot County Sheriff's deputies found several items commonly used in the "shake and bake" method as well a suspected meth during a search warrant Monday at 8 p.m. at a home in the 700 block of East Reed Street.

Hayti officers arrested four people who were at the residence when the search warrant was executed.  Two people face charges.

Richard A. Morgan Jr., 34, of Hayti is charged with Distribution of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) near a School, Attempt to Manufacture Methamphetamine, and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine).  Morgan Jr. was taken to the Pemiscot County Justice Center in lieu of $150,000 cash surety bond.

Ronnie Joe Nelson Jr., 20, of Hayti is charged with Attempt to Manufacture Methamphetamine and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine).  He was taken to the Pemiscot County Justice Center in lieu of $100,000 cash surety bond.
