Memorial service for fallen former SIUC ROTC Member

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

Friends and family will gather this week to remember a former member of the Southern Illinois University Carbondale Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC).

34-year-old Tech Sergeant Todd Brown died September 3rd after an ATV he was riding on crashed near Cedar Creek, Nebraska.

According to a release from the university, Brown was on active duty with the U.S. Air Force. He recently relocated from Carbondale to Nebraska.

Brown reported to Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue on September 1st, according to the university.

During his time at SIUC, Brown was the non-commissioned officer in charge of personnel. He was in charge of about 100 cadets each year.

Brown leaves behind his wife, Jenny Noojibail and three children, Gehrig, Alice, and Emmett.

A memorial service to honor Brown will take place on Thursday, September 15th at 6:30 p.m. at the Wesley Foundation United Methodist Student Center. That's at 816 S. Illinois Avenue in Carbondale.
