MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

An alleged DUI crash on Interstate 24 Saturday lands a man in the hospital.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, the crash happened around 7:52 p.m. Investigators say 58-year-old James Bell was driving his 2004 Ford Pickup pulling a trailer East Bound when he lost control of the vehicle.

The truck left the roadway and rolled over twice, coming to rest on the driver side in a ditch.

Bell was ejected from the vehicle and landed in the ditch approximately 30 feet from the vehicle.

Deputies say they could smell the strong odor of an alcohol coming from the truck and from Bell.

Investigators say they believe alcohol was a contributing factor in the collision.

Bell was cited for DUI 3rd Offense. Due to his injuries, he remains in the hospital and was not taken to jail.
