CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Another piece of the Waller puzzle today, as we hear for the first time from a woman who claims she had an affair with Clay Waller.
Casaundra Prater of Cape Girardeau wants to set the record straight. She claims people are attacking her on places like Topix and Facebook for her relationship with Clay Waller.
Prater says she filed a restraining order to keep Waller away.
"Unfortunately I had an affair with this man a year ago," said Prater. "He was my knight in shining armor. I didn't know he was crazy."
Casaundra Prater says her life turned upside down the day Jacque Waller disappeared.
Prater says Clay Waller started threatning her and her children.
"That's until he started popping up, hiding in my apartment, hiding in my car, threatening my life, my kids life," said Prater.
That's when she filed the Ex Parte Order of Protection. "I would go home and find him hiding in my closet, he was making me a hostage in my house, scared me, stalked me, waited for me watching," said Prater.
Before it got to that point, Prater says she reached out to Waller and cooperated with police. That is something investigators confirm. She says people continue to accused her of having something to do with Jacque Waller's disappearance.
"I have these people bashing me on public websites, like topix and facebook and I am doing everything to help law enforcement," said Prater.
She says she can't find a job, and blames her involvement with Clay.
"I still have something dragging, a ball and chain following behind me over my shoulder," said Prater.
She's no longer convinced Waller is an innocent man, and only wished he would have opened up more.
"I know he did it, I just couldn't prove it and I thought for sure he would tell me (what happened)," said Prater.
Clay Waller has not been charged in connection with his wife's disappearance.
He will be back in federal court on the Internet threat charge on Monday.
