Teen crashes into Herrin home

HERRIN, IL (KFVS) -

A Herrin family wanted to renovate their home, but this wasn't what they had in mind.

According to Herrin police, Wednesday night around 11 p.m., Jamie Brandon, 19, of Herrin hit the corner of a home on 14th street and then ran away.

Two adults and two kids were in the home when the car hit.

Everyone's okay, but the owners say they were just a week or so away from being finished with their renovations, but now the home's foundation and siding are damaged.

Police say they caught up with the teen driver a short time after the crash.

According to police, the driver now faces charges for underage alcohol, resisting arrest and leaving the scene of an accident.
