Jackson County sheriff's deputies rescued a man and woman who were lost in southern Illinois' Little Grand Canyon.
David and Steffie Garmon, of Greenville, Illinois became lost around 5 p.m. Monday after wandering off the main trail.
They called the Jackson County Sheriff's Department asking for help. About an hour later, deputies located the couple on top of a heavily wooded ridge within the canyon. They were not hurt.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Department reminds everyone using the main hiking trail in the Little Grand Canyon to remain on the trail at all times.
Venturing off the main hiking trail can be dangerous and can often lead to confusion, making it hard to find your way back.
