Preliminary autopsy results back on body found near Castor River

BOLLINGER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

The preliminary autopsy results are back on the body of a man found in rural Bollinger County.

Sheriff Leo McElrath said it appears to be an accidental death. He said there are no signs of foul play suspected.

The sheriff said he is anxious to get the toxicology results back in a few weeks.

According to Sheriff Leo McElrath, a Bollinger County Sheriff's deputy found the body of 24-year-old Matthew Willmirth at the edge of the Castor River near Greenbrier.

No word on how long he had been along the river, and police aren't sure yet how he died.

He disappeared somewhere between Zalma and Arab on August 23rd.
