2 arrested on various drug and gun charges in Scott County

SCOTT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

A reported near-deadly fentanyl patch overdose led police to make 2 arrests for various gun and drug charges in Scott County.

It happened Friday on Tanner Lane near Tanner, Mo. just west of Sikeston.

According to police, a man allegedly overdosed after getting a fentanyl patch at the home on Friday. The man called 911, quit breathing and was later resuscitate by paramedics. Afterwards, the man then told police then where he got the patch.

Investigators say because of the patch police were able to search the home.

The sheriff's office got a warrant, searched the home and seized 7 guns, methamphetamine, cocaine, various prescriptions and fentanyl patches, according to the Scott County Sheriff's Office.

James Johnson and Ada Blagg were charged with class C felony possession of a firearm, class C possession of a controlled substance (two charges each), and class A felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were being held at the Scott County Jail on $25,000 cash only bond.
