Animals available to adopt after owners' drug arrest

SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

Because of recent drug arrests, the Sikeston Humane Society has 16 extra dogs and 2 cats available.

Officials say they will be forced to euthanize to animals the first week of September if they are not adopted out.

Trace White with the humane society says any dog on his euthanize list is $70 to adopt and cats are $55. He says that still covers the animals' spay and neuter.

Call Trace at 573-620-3234 or 573-471-4801 if you'd like to adopt an at-risk dog or cat.
