Building catches fire along Sprigg St. in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Sprigg Street was shut down for a bit Monday afternoon while firefighters responded to a fire at 314 S. Sprigg.

It happened Monday afternoon in the rows of vacant buildings directly across from the Salvation Army.

Firefighters cut a hole in the roof for ventilation, according to the Heartland News crew at the scene.

The fire was not large, but did cause concern about spreading as the buildings are connected.
