Woman arrested after police chase

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

A police chase ends with a Gilbertsville, Kentucky woman behind bars.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, a deputy was called to investigate a theft on Grogan Circle in Reidland.

The deputy interviewed the suspect, 26 year old Autumn Woodford. She told the detective she'd taken nearly $1,600 of jewelry from the home.

According to the sheriff's department, when the deputy told Woodford she was under arrest, investigators say she ran away!

The deputy caught up with her a few houses away and she was taken into custody. Woodford faces a charge of Theft by Unlawful Taking over $500. It's a class D felony that carries a sentence of 1 to 5 years, if convicted.
