Afternoon update: Triple murder suspect sentenced to 15 years

Good afternoon.

One of two suspects who admitted involvement a Cape Girardeau triple homicide was sentenced to 15 years in prison Friday morning.

A late night fire caused $1 million in damage to a fire station and equipment at the Piedmont Fire Department. Kathy Sweeney interviews the fire chief tonight and finds out how the community is rallying around the tragedy.

Ill. Attorney General Lisa Madigan met with southern Illinois law enforcement today in Carterville to talk about how to stop the spread of small-scale methamphetamine production.

A judge in southern Illinois has sentenced a former Carbondale police officer to 30 years in prison for his role in a bank robbery.
