Three children, one adult injured in Pemiscot County collision

COOTER, MO (KFVS) -

Three children and one adult were injured in a crash that occurred Thursday evening in Pemiscot County about a mile north of the Arkansas state line.

An online crash report from the Missouri Highway Patrol identifies the victims as Laura Childers and Maddison Hutchinson, two 12-year-old girls from Cooter, and Austin Morris, an 11-year-old boy from Steele, along with Hector Morales, 43, of Dyersburg, TN.

According to the report, the children were on a 2006 Kawasaki Mule, which is a four-wheeler, on Route DD around 6:20 p.m. when they failed to yield and ran into a 2001 Nissan driven by Morales.  The children went to two different hospitals with serious injuries, while Morales suffered moderate injuries.

The report says Morales was wearing a seat belt, but the children had no safety devices.
