One Tank Trip: The Magic House children's museum

ST. LOUIS, MO (KFVS) -

In this One Tank Trip we visit The Magic House! It's a Children's museum, located in St. Louis, home to dozens upon dozens of hands-on learning experiences that encourage problem solving, beauty, wonder, and magic for families and children.

The Magic House holds Free Family Nights every third Friday of the month from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

These special nights enable a family (no more than two adults and four of their own children) to enjoy more than 100 hands-on exhibits in the museum at no charge.

Free nights are:

  • September 16, 2011
  • October 21, 2011
  • November 18, 2011
  • December 16, 2011

Reservations are not required.

Meanwhile, children can earn FREE admission and take the first step toward a healthy lifestyle at Fitness First Fridays on the first Friday evening of every month from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m.

Families can stretch their muscles and their minds as they take the 1,000 step circuit through the museum touring hundreds of fun, educational exhibits and looking for "Fit Facts" filled with useful health and nutrition information.

Each month will feature a different fitness theme as well as special guests and activities to get families energized about getting fit.

  • Kirkwood Road is the section of Lindbergh Boulevard between Big Bend Boulevard and Manchester Road.

From the Lindbergh exit, The Magic House is located:

  • One mile north of I-44 or
  • Four miles south of I-40/64
