HARRISBURG, IL (KFVS) -

Police arrested a man accused of setting a house on fire on August 16.

Michael Lore Jr., 20, of Carrier Mills, is charged with arson, according to the Saline County State's Attorney.

Fire crews got a call of a house on fire at 2:14 p.m. on August 16 at 718 West Lincoln.  Lore Jr. was arrested on August 18.

" I was in my house when I started smelling smoke," said Tammy Cullum of Harrisburg.

"I looked up at the roof and saw smoke, I went behind the house and saw that is was engulfed in flames, and I called 911."

Cullum says Lore lived in the home with his cousin, and his cousin's wife. But, that the landlord evicted them back in July.

She says she saw Lore and another man near the home on the afternoon the fire started.

"It was maybe 20-to-30 minutes before I smelled the smoke. They were out here on the street and Michael was talking on the phone to somebody."

Police caught up with Lore at his father's home in Carrier Mills and questioned him about the fire. During the questioning police say Lore allegedly admitted to starting the fire in the house, by throwing a burning roll of paper towels through an open window.

Lore Jr. was taken to the Saline county Detention Center.

His bond is set at $100,000.
