Portageville police arrest drug suspect

PORTAGEVILLE, MO (KFVS) -

A Sikeston man faces possible drug charges in New Madrid County.

Portageville police say around 2:45 this morning they observed 23 year old Ross Baker walking along East Fifth Street.

Due to a rash of break-ins in that neighborhood, officers made contact with Baker. As officers approached him, Baker reportedly threw a plastic bag and a tube of glue in a yard.

Police retrieved the items and discovered what they believe to be a significant amount of meth amphetamine. Baker is behind bars at this hour at the New Madrid County jail.
