Fallout from Miami scandal could hit Missouri

The fallout from the recruiting scandal at Miami could be felt as close as Columbia, MO.

New Missouri Tigers head basketball coach Frank Haith is named in the report broken by Yahoo sports last Sunday. A recruiting scandal detailing the improper and illegal benefits given to prospective players such as, money, jewelry and trips.

Current Tigers coach Frank Haith was said to have had knowledge of Miami booster Nevin Shapiro paying $10,000 to secure the commitment Miami recruit DeQuan Jones.

Haith spent seven years at Miami before being hired by Mizzou in April.

Speaking through a university of Missouri official, Haith has since denied the accusation. According to published reports Haith could be in hot water because his contract at Mizzou states he can be held accountable for improprieties which took place before he was hired by Mizzou.
