Charleston police found and arrested a Missouri nightclub murder suspect in Michigan.

Nicholas A. Munn, 28, of Sikeston was shot to death August 13 on the parking lot of Bro's Kickin' Nightclub around 2:30 a.m. on West Marshall Street in Charleston.

The Charleston Department of Public Safety along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, began an investigation into the events that led to his death.

Police say a warrant was issued for Devonte Johnson, 18 of Charleston on Aug. 13 charging him with murder 1st degree, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.

Johnson had fled the area, and police began a search for the man, investigators said. On August 18, Johnson was found and arrested in Kalamazoo Michigan. He waived extradition and was returned to Missouri.

He was being held with no bond in the Mississippi County Jail in Charleston.

Chief Robert Hearnes expressed his appreciation for the hard work of his officers, the assistance of the MO State Highway Patrol, and the cooperation of the Michigan State Police.
