Five people arrested on drug and child endangerment charges in Mississippi Co.

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

According to Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore, five area residents were arrested and have been charged with drug related crimes and child endangerment.

On Saturday August 13, 2011 Mississippi County Deputy David Watkins got an anonymous tip on about a possible methamphetamine lab.

Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore immediately initiated an investigation. Sheriff Moore was assisted by responding Officer Deputy David Watkins, Mississippi County Reserve Unit Deputies Britton Ferrell, Mark Counts, Alvin Marcum, Randy Cook and Deputy Mike Borders.

Several items used in the process of making methamphetamine were found, as well as  substances field testing positive for methamphetamine. Processed marijuana and a marijuana plant were also found.

Police say guns were removed from the home due to a convicted felon residing at the residence.

Arrested and charged were:

Christopher Ray Bisher, 25, of East Prairie, Missouri. Bisher was taken to the Mississippi County Detention Center with charges of manufacture of methamphetamine, resisting arrest, possession of methamphetamine precursor. His bond was set at $50,000 for each count.

Jessica Lynn Housman, 26, of Anniston, Missouri was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, possession of drug paraphernalia, and contraband within a county jail. Housman was being held at the Mississippi County Detention Center with a bond set at $10,000.

Harold Shawn Matheney, 34, of East Prairie, Missouri has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine precursors. Matheney's bond was set at $50,000 and he was taken to the Mississippi County Detention Center.

Sarah Elizabeth Tatum, 17, of Anniston, Missouri was arrested and has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $25,000.

Joshua Grant Johnston, 25, of East Prairie, Missouri was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child, his bond was set at $10,000 and he was taken to the Mississippi County Detention Center.

Sheriff Keith Moore said his office continues to work on all crime tips.

"I am proud of the deputies who assisted in this investigation, any drugs we are able to obtain and prevent the sell and usage of is a win in this battle against drugs," said Moore. "My department continues to work all tips and many have proven to be extremely helpful. The public is to be commended for their assistance in making it possible to make these arrests."
