Burglary arrest leads to break in 10 unsolved cases

BUTLER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Butler County Sheriff's deputies make a burglary arrest, which helps solve a string of unsolved cases.

On Wednesday morning, officers say a man was caught in the act of a burglary at two separate residences.

Each time he was confronted by the homeowner and fled.

According to the Butler County Sheriff's Department, shortly after his vehicle description was obtained and given to Butler county Deputies, Deputy Kellis Thompson observed the individual parked in front of a residence on W Highway in Butler County.

At that time, he was in the process of a third burglary when he was taken into custody at gun point by Deputy Thompson.

The suspect is identified as Lajon Watkins of Poplar Bluff, age 29.

Watkins allegedly confessed to 10 additional burglaries he had previously committed in Butler County.

The investigation continues as more suspects are being sought for questioning.

Watkins is being held for first degree burglary on a $50,000 cash only bond.
