Construction will slow traffic in Saline County

SALINE COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

The Illinois Department of Transportation and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will inspect the Shawneetown Bridge on August 18th. The bridge connects Illinois 13 and Kentucky 56.

During the inspection, the bridge will be down to one lane. The departments will look at the bridge from 1 to 4 p.m.

Drivers can also expect some delays in Harrisburg. Road construction is taking place at the intersection of U.S. 45 and Illinois 13. Lights will be flashing at the intersection until the construction is finished. According to the sheriff's department, there will be some lane restrictions and drivers are asked to use alternate routes, if possible.

There will also be construction on U.S. 45 South between Harrisburg and Ledford. If you have to drive that route, expect a delay of 15 to 20 minutes.
