PORTAGEVILLE, MO (KFVS) -

Police arrested two men after busting several working meth labs in a Portageville apartment on Saturday afternoon.

Portageville Police received a tip that the residents of Apartment 7 Portage Village were cooking methamphetamine.

When officers knocked on the door, two people tried to escape out a rear window and back door.  Officers positioned at the back of the apartment arrested them.

Officers found several working meth labs and numerous precursors for the manufacture of meth.

Four people were detained at the apartment, but two face charges.

Richards Rowles, 41, and Christopher Long, 33, both of Portageville were being held with no bond pending an appearance before a judge.

Two police officers were taken by ambulance to Pemiscot Memorial Hospital with chemical-related injuries, but were released a few hours later.
