Police investigate homicide at Charleston nightclub

CHARLESTON, MO (KFVS) -

According to the Charleston Department of Public Safety, 28-year-old Nicholas Munn was found dead across the street from the Bro's Kickin' Nightclub at 2:30 Saturday morning.

Officers say they found Munn with a gunshot wound.

The owner of the nightclub says she called police when she heard gunshots and someone found Munn in the parking lot across the street.

"Nothing happened inside the club, nothing happened on the parking lot. People were actually leaving," said Owner Patricia Carpenter. "It takes them a minute to get out of the little space. And when they were leaving, that's when someone noticed this that was before the gunshots."

The Mo. State Highway Patrol is assisting in the investigation.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crime to contact Charleston DPS at (573) 683-3737.
