Training wheels may be evidence in Bootheel girl's disappearance

Two training wheels recently found near Senath may have come from a bicycle Breeann Rodriguez was riding when she disappeared from outside her home on Saturday, said police chief Omar Karnes.

"We think the wheels look fairly new," Karnes said.. "We sent them off to the crime lab for paint testing."

The wheels were found in an area with heavy brush on County Highway 568 east of Buffalo Ditch in Dunklin County, about two miles southeast of Breeann's home in Senath. It's an area searchers say would likely have been too far for the little girl to travel on her bike.

Firefighters who found the wheels tell Heartland News one of the wheels was close to the road, while the other was about 30 feet away on the other side of a barbed wire fence.

Breeann's father and believes they belong to his daughter because of how he manipulated the training wheels and bike to lower it for her height.

Karnes said a third piece of evidence was found, but said he can't talk about it just yet.
