Sunday morning storm flips camper, tears roof off

GORHAM, IL (KFVS) - Overnight storms cause damage to homes in the small Jackson County town of Gorham.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Sunday's early-morning storms ripped off the roof of the home at 303 Main Street. The same address saw an RV camper toppled by high winds.

On Lake Street, another home sustained some roof damage due to strong wind.

Officials say throughout town there are quite a few tree limbs down and power was knocked out in much of Gorham for a time.

Power has since been restored.

-11:28 PM - Up to half-dollar sized hail reported on Hwy. TT near Gipsy in Bollinger Co., Mo.

-11:55 PM - Several roofs off houses near Main St. and one garage missing in Gorham. Camper blown over, roof off of house and lots of debris on Main St.


-12:07 AM - 59 MPH winds reported at Cape Girardeau airport.

-1:00 AM - Awning blown off of camper in Mermet, Ill. in Massac County.

-1:04 AM - 47 MPH winds in Ballard County, Ky.

-1:06 AM - 57 MPH winds in Massac County, Ill.

-1:28 AM - Large tree limbs down blocking part of Lone Oak Rd. in front of Verizon Store in Lone Oak, Ky. in McCracken County.

-1:50 AM - Large tree branch fell on home in Mayfield, Ky. in Graves County.
