Police respond to RV fire on I-24

VIENNA, IL (KFVS) - Police and fire crews responded to an RV fire Thursday afternoon on I-24 in Johnson County.

It happened at mile marker 22, according to Illinois State Police.

Police say the driver, Theodore K. Green, 58, of Dover, Tenn. was traveling west on I-24 when he heard a loud noise and saw the engine smoking. Green pulled the RV to the right shoulder and left the vehicle. That's when Green said the RV became totally engulfed in flames.

The RV sustained major damage as it "burnt down to the frame," said Green.

Johnson Co. Fire Dept. was at the scene as ISP troopers arrived.

There were no injuries.
