Afternoon update: Triple murder trial begins

Opening arguments are over in the trial of a Cape Girardeau man charged in a triple murder.  The prosecution has called several witnesses to the stand in the trial of Ryan Patterson.  He is accused in the October 2009 shooting deaths of Jamie Orman, her son Derrick, and her unborn son.  Holly Brantley has been in the courtroom all day and tells us what witnesses said on the stand.

Clay Waller's attorney requested a change of judge today before his scheduled arraignment.  Waller faces two separate charges of stealing by deceit and harassment.  The crimes are unrelated to his wife's disappearance.  Jacque Waller has been missing since June 1.

Dexter police arrested a 17-year-old this morning after leading police on a high speed car chase and foot chase.

Perryville Police arrested a man accused or raping a 13-year-old girl.

A man shot by his brother in Ledbetter died a week later yesterday.  Police say his brother killed himself after shooting the man in the head.

The plant foreman at Gilster-Mary Lee says the building received minimal structural damage after a fire yesterday.
