BENTON, IL (KFVS) - After a guilty verdict earlier this month, the girl convicted in the deadly shootings of two women at a home in West Frankfort in 2009 has learned her fate.
Sentencing was today for Afton Ferris at a Franklin County Court House.
A judge handed down 2 life sentences to run concurrently and 3 – 25 year sentences with an additional 75 years tacked on to that to run consecutively.
State's Attorney Evan Owens said, Ferris was the "cold calculated leader in this crime." "This defendant only has one live to give for the two lives she's taken. We asked for her life."
A Franklin County jury convicted Afton Ferris in July 2011 of killing Kandis Major and Terri Seibeck in their West Frankfort home in back October of 2009.
A jury found her guilty earlier in July on six counts which include first degree murder, home invasion and armed robbery.
