A Washington County, Missouri 2-year-old boy was flown to a St. Louis hospital after being involved in a scooter wreck Thursday afternoon.
According to the Missouri Highway patrol the boy, 2-year-old Morgan Lawson was the passenger on a 2007 Honda Roketa scooter driven by Sterling Lawson, 27, of Cadet, MO.
The patrol reports the driver was on Wickett Road 1 mile east of Missouri Route E when he drove off the edge of the road and overturned. Both he and the toddler were thrown from the scooter. Neither of them were wearing helmets.
According to the Highway Patrol, the boy received serious injuries and had to be flown by helicopter to Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St. Louis.
Sterling Lawson received moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
However, according to the Highway Patrol, Sterling Morgan was also arrested. The patrol arrested him on charges of felony assault 2nd degree, misdemeanor DWI (drugs) and misdemeanor driving while revoked.
Heartland News spoke with the Missouri Highway Patrol Friday morning and could not confirm the relationship between Sterling and Morgan Lawson.
