Firefighters secure adrift boat twice on Mississippi River

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Cape Girardeau firefighters take to the river not once, but twice, to catch the same stranded boat.

Marine One back on the Mississippi River Monday afternoon, working to secure a pleasure boat that ran out of gas in Ste. Genevieve and drifted down to Cape.

It's the same boat the department had to catch Monday morning for the same reason.

The first time, the 30-foot pleasure craft made it about 20 miles south of Cape before they caught it.

The Coast Guard requested Cape Girardeau Fire Department's help around 3:30 Monday morning by using their Marine one rescue boat.

There was no medical emergency on the adrift boat.
