WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - A Herrin man has died as a result of an early morning drowning in Herrin.
Craig Andrew Stevens, 43, of Herrin was pronounced dead at 4:15 a.m. Sunday at Herrin Hospital, according to Williamson County Coroner Mike "Junior" Burke.
The drowning happened at Stevens' home in Herrin. He was found in his pool, Burke said.
Burke says it was reported to Herrin Police at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
An autopsy was performed on Sunday at the Williamson County Morgue.
The incident is currently under investigation by the coroner and the Herrin Police Department.
This makes the fifth drowning in southern Ill. since May.
