DELTA, MO (KFVS) -

It started as a bet with a relative to see who could shed the most weight in three months. It was a wager Tyna Taylor of Delta won by losing. Yet she decided to keep going.

Now, more than 120 pounds lighter, she says she's never felt better.

"If I can do it anybody can do it," said Taylor.

Now, 36 Taylor says in March of last year she decided she had to make a change.

"I was tired of being fat," said Taylor. "I had no energy. It was just time. I was 250 pounds then. I'm 127 now."

Taylor says a lot of people don't recognize her. He strategy wasn't fancy, or costly. She says it was simple. "Common sense," said Taylor.

She changed her diet and started exercising.

"No more cookies or pies," said Taylor "Now it's chicken and vegetables. I walk several miles everyday."

She knows all the routes around her hometown of Delta and often walked with her daughter, 15 year old Chasity.

"I have lot of energy," said Taylor. "I can go all the time."

Her daughter and son are very proud.

"I'm so proud of her," said Chasity. "She lost so much."

"She was miserable," said 12 year old, David. "I never thought she would come this far."

They say mom's new lifestyle has had an effect on the whole family.

"She changed our diets too," said Chasity.

"I won't eat junk food unless I'm starving," laughed David. "I think about it now."

"I can't believe I let my body get like that," said Taylor. "Changing was actually easy. It's not hard at all."

Taylor says she wants to thank her family and friends for standing by her.

"All the support was amazing," said Taylor. "If it wasn't for them I could not have done it."
