KENNETT, MO (KFVS) -

Police have arrested a suspect after a 25-year-old man was shot to death late Monday night in Kennett.

Police arrested a 22-year-old Kennett man around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at a home in Hayti Heights.  The release of his name and charges are pending.

Kennett Police were called to the 1100 block of Astrachan at 11:47 p.m. Monday for a shooting.

Assistant Police Chief Steve Williams says officers found the body of Roosevelt Jackson, 25, sitting in a Lincoln Navigator. 

Police say he had been shot in the back several times through the rear driver's side window with a 9mm handgun.  Police have recovered the weapon and six casings.

Jackson's family says he was originally from Blytheville but was living in Kennett with his girlfriend and her grandmother.  Jackson had three children.

The Dunklin County Major Case Squad has been activated.  Police expect an arrest to be made Tuesday.

Anyone with information is asked to call authorities.
