4 injured in Carter County crash

CARTER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Four people were injured in a crash Saturday afternoon in Carter County.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, it happened 9 miles east of Van Buren around 5:20 p.m. on US 60.

The crash happened when a car carrying four people tried to pass a 2007 International truck and rear-ended it.

Those injured in the crash were:

  • Luke A. Storey, 22, of Senath with minor injuries. The driver of one of the cars refused treatment.
  • Ashley R. Wheatley, 20, of Senath with minor injures. She refused treatment.
  • Riley M. Wilkins, 20, of Hornersville with moderate injuries. He was taken by ambulance to a Poplar Bluff hospital.
  • Samantha A. Wilson, 21, of Kennett with moderate injuries. She was taken by ambulance to a Poplar Bluff hospital.

Nathan C. Drebes, 24, of Springfield, Mo. was the driver of the truck. Police say he was not injured.

Police say Storey and Wilson were not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
