Police asks for info after deadly shooting outside of bar

MARION, IL (KFVS) - Marion Police asks anyone with information about a deadly shooting outside a bar in Marion to step forward.

According to the Marion Police Department, the incident happened on Friday, July 8 around 10:45 p.m.  in the parking lot of Pips 2 Bar at 307 W. Boyton St. in Marion.

Police say they responded to the bar with a report of shots fired in the parking lot.

When officers arrived, they found that Marcus Monroe, 46, had been injured during the incident.

Police say Lifeline responded, and Monroe was airlifted to an Evansville hospital were he later died.

The major case squad has been activated and immediately began interviewing potential witnesses and following all leads, according to police.

The Marion Police Department is asking for assistance from any witnesses from the incident at Pips 2 Bar.
