GORDONVILLE, MO (KFVS) - Five people were injured in a three-car crash Wednesday afternoon in Cape Girardeau County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, it happened around 2:55 p.m. on Hwy. 25 at Gordonville.
Police say a car driven by Daniel R. Hecht, 38, of Jackson was going northbound on Route 25 when a car driven eastbound by Patrick R. Kaufman, 30, of Jackson attempted to turn on Route K and failed to yield to Hecht's car. That's when the car driven by Hecht was struck in the passenger side by Kaufman's car, according to the crash report.
Police say then Kaufman's car rotated clockwise onto Route K and struck a car driven by Jean M. Hazelwood, 41, of O'Fallon, Mo.
Kaufman and an occupant Michael D. Kilburn, 38, of Jackson received moderate injuries and were taken by ambulance to a Cape Girardeau hospital.
Police say Hecht received minor injuries and an 8-year-old and an 11-year-old occupant also received minor injuries and were taken by private conveyance to a Cape Girardeau hospital.
Police say all involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
