CHAFFEE, MO (KFVS) -

The Missouri state fire marshal says the cause of a June 2011 deadly fire in Chaffee is unclear.

Two-year-old Bryton Nicholson, three-year-old Jaden Nicholson, and their uncle 21-year-old Andrew Biler died in the fire. The coroner said all three died of smoke inhalation.

"The scene of the investigation indicates the fire originated in the living room," said Randy Cole, State Fire Marshal. "However, due to the extent of fire damage in the area of fire origin, an electrical source could not be eliminated as a contributing factor to the cause of the fire. The cause is being listed as undetermined."

The house was located on the 100 block of Black St. near downtown Chaffee.
