Fire claims home in Fulton, Tenn.

FULTON, TN (KFVS) - Firefighters battled a home fire in Fulton, Tenn. Sunday afternoon.

According to Asst. Chief Mike Gunn, it happened at 203 Vancil St. around 3:30 in the afternoon.

Crews responded to the home where heavy smoke was seen before they arrived, according to Gunn.

The home was a total loss. Gunn says the cause of the fire is under investigation.

One firefighter was treated at the scene for heat exhaustion and was taken to a hospital in Martin, Tenn. There is no word on the firefighters condition.

The family and their infant son were not home when the fire started. They had only lived in the home for 3 months, according to Gunn.
