LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The trainers of Stephen Foster Handicap winner Pool Play are preparing to send the 6-year-old to New York for the summer to prepare for the Whitney Handicap.
Assistant trainer Norman Casse said along with the Aug. 6 race at Saratoga, Pool Play will also be pointed at the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic at Churchill Downs on Nov. 5.
Pool Play ran five furlongs Sunday morning in 1:03 over a fast main track for trainer Mark Casse.
The son of Silver Deputy won the $500,000 Stephen Foster Handicap in June, taking his career record of 6-6-5 from 28 starts with earnings of $909,556.
