Man arrested for DUI after colliding with motorcycle in Millersville

One man was arrested for DUI and a motorcycle rider went to the hospital after a Friday evening crash in Millersville.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the motorcycle and the car collided as the motorcycle was leaving Millersville Gas & Grocery and pulling onto Highway 72.  The car was on 72 headed towards Jackson, troopers said.

Investigators were not sure who was at fault, but the driver of the car was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Heartland News photojournalist Rochelle Steffen, who was on scene, said the motorcycle rider appeared to be seriously hurt.  Her name was not released, nor was the driver of the vehicle pending formal charges.

The driver of the car did not appear to be hurt.
