Police bust meth lab, look for residents of home

METROPOLIS, IL (KFVS) -

Metropolis Police busted a meth lab inside a home Monday night.  Now, they are looking for the people who live there.

Police got a tip about a meth lab at the home on 601 Johnson Street.  They searched the property and found numerous meth making materials including generator bottles, lithium batteries, mason jars, coffee filters, and ammonium nitrate, clear plastic tubing, aluminum foil, Coleman cook fuel, disposable gloves and one pot cook bottles among other items.

The names of the residents are not being released.

An agent of the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force and the Illinois State Police Methamphetamine Clean-Up Team assisted Metropolis Police.
