CHARLESTON, MO (KFVS) - Mississippi County Sheriff's Department arrested two people from Charleston after finding more than 21 pounds of marijuana on Saturday, June 25.
Richard "Rick" Hensley, 48, is charged with possession with intent to distribute.
Melinda Larkins is charged with possession with intent to distribute.
Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore says the marijuana Richard Hensley possessed was worth more than $125,000.
Moore says Hensley involved his teenage children in the operation.
"We weighed it out and the best of our recollection we could come up with was 21 and a half pounds," Moore said. "For it [marijuana] being bagged up, this is the biggest we've come up with so far."
Moore says this investigation has been going on for two to three years. Sheriff Moore says he believes the growing operation took place in Ballard County, Kentucky.
Hensley's and Larkins' bond is each set at $150,000 cash only.
