Crews battle business fire Saturday in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

Fire crews are on the scene of a business fire Saturday afternoon on the north side of Carbondale.

According to the Carbondale Fire Department, firefighters were called around 1:30 p.m. to 200 north Washington St. at the D's Sandwich Shop.

The business owner says an employee called 911 after a customer saw smoke coming from the roof.

When crews arrived, the entire front of the building was engulfed in flames.

The fire is contained, according to several crews on the scene. They fire has not spread to other surrounding buildings.

No one was hurt in the blaze.

There is no word yet on what caused the fire.
