KENNETT, MO (KAIT) - Tornado sirens, also known as outdoor early warning sirens, aren't only sounded when there is a tornado warning in the area.

The officials in charge of sounding sirens take wind threats seriously and will sound the warning system when needed.

Mallott says the city tests sirens every Saturday at noon if the weather is clear to make sure they are in proper working condition.
