PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) - Some residents in western Kentucky are starting to rally behind a neighbor whose house is slated to be demolished.
McCracken County code enforcement officer Gary Richards says the home belonging to Teresa Bolden was condemned in September because it is a fire and safety hazard and it would be dangerous for her to stay there.
But neighbor Ashlee Green told The Paducah Sun that she thinks of the home as a county landmark and has started a petition to save it.
Green says county officials shouldn't demolish the home "just because they don't like the way it looks."
The tall, crooked structure is made of pallets, planks and other materials.
