Mobile disaster recovery center opens in Bollinger Co.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced the closing of the Mobile Disaster Recovery Center (MDRC) in Cape Girardeau.

The Cape MDRC will be closing at 6 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2011, according to FEMA.

Storm survivors in the Cape Girardeau area who have questions about their applications for disaster aid are urged to visit the MDRC located at the Shawnee Park Center, 835 S. West End Blvd., until 6 p.m., June 18.

The MDRC will then reopen for three days in Bollinger County on Monday, June 20, at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Family Life Center (separate building behind the church), 502 Broadway St., in Marble Hill.

According to FEMA, the hours of operation will be Monday, June 20, from 1 to 6 p.m., and June 21 and 22, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The MDRC will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22.

Personnel from FEMA and the U .S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will be on hand to meet with storm survivors face-to-face to answer any disaster assistance questions, and to help applicants complete their SBA disaster loan applications.
