Police chief's son arrested after stabbing

EAST PRAIRIE, MO (KFVS) - Police arrested a 27-year-old man accused of stabbing another man Monday night.

Justin Lafferty, 27, is charged with assault first degree and armed criminal action.  Lafferty is the son of East Prairie Police Chief Danny Lafferty.

The stabbing happened around 6 p.m. Monday at 325 First Street in East Prairie, according to the East Prairie Police Department.

Lafferty is accused of stabbing 31-year-old Rodney Hudgens of East Prairie after an argument over something posted on Facebook.

Police say Hudgens was taken to the hospital with what they believe is a punctured lung.  He is doing OK, according to police.

Lafferty was taken to the Mississippi County Jail on $150,000 cash bond.

The East Prairie Police Department is investigating.
